Mechanical Jointing Training
Who is this course for?
Contractors and their employees who are required to oversee and/or carry out mechanical joint installations on the Irish Water Network.
Aims & Objectives of this course:
The aim of the course is to equip operators with the essential skills and knowledge to confidently and securely install
flange joints, dismantling joints, flange adaptors, push fittings and compression fittings in the Irish Water Network.
Course Duration:
1 Day
Training Method:
Training will take place in our classrooms in Shannon, Co. Clare. Training will
involve theory, demonstrations, practical assessments and a multiple choice question exam.
All necessary equipment is provided by Tensile Testing Services Ltd. A minimum mark of 80% is required to pass the exam.
Trainee Requirements:
All trainees must have a valid Safe Pass card.
Accreditation:
Tensile Testing Services is a fully accredited Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) independent training facility. All courses are accredited by the EUSR.
Qualification is valid for:
EUSR qualifications are valid for 3 Years from date of successful completion.

9. Compression Joints & installation.
10. Flange Adaptors & Flange Adaptor installation.
11. Push Fit Joints & Push Fit Joint installation.
12. Angular Deflection – what is it and how to remedy.
13. Bolted Flange Joint/Dismantling joint demonstration and practical exercises.
14. Flange Adaptor Joint demonstration and practical exercises.
15. Compression Joints demonstration and practical exercises.
16. Push Fit Joints demonstration and practical exercises.
